UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Walk Challenge Take the Walk Challenge  - get your family and friends to sponsor you in your walk and help raise monies to support homeless families in our area. Remember, with a virtual walk, you pick where and when you do it, who you do it with, and what time you start – how far you walk  - 1 mile or 5 miles, it’s up to you. Walk anytime from now through October 3rd.

Silent Auction

The Live Auction will launch Go-Live on Sept 17th and go to 6pm on October 3, 2020.  You will be able to view/buy items that are available.  BUT>>>> you have to Click to Register tab above to register and put a credit card on file to enable purchase. The Card is in a secured/encrypted file and WILL NOT be used unless you have a winning bid.

Streaming Event

A Live Streaming Event Oct 3rd from 5:00pm to 6:00pm both on Alpha’s Facebook to raise awareness and monies for Alpha Community Center. The 1-hour streaming event will feature:

·      A TikTok Challenge with Tony Dovolani, of Dancing with the Stars fame, throwing down 15-20 second TicTok Dance Challenge to the TicTok community,

·      Special guest musical artist musical Javier Colon- a past winner of NBC’s The Voice performing a special song,

·      Informal conversations with local celebrities like Carl Pavano, former NY Yankee great, local band - Green Eyed Lady, and First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick of Fairfield.

 

Alpha Community Services YMCA invites you to join us at our 19th Virtual Walk to End Homelessness on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Due to CoVid19, this year’s Walk will be a little different than past Walks.

We won’t be able to walk from Captain’s Cove through St. Mary’s by the Sea and back. But we still need you to join in the Walk to End Homelessness. This year’s Walk will feature a streaming simulcast on Zoom and Facebook to raise awareness and monies for Alpha Community Services YMCA.

The 1-hour streaming event will feature local guests, experiences, local celebrities, sports personalities and some live performers throughout the event. Some of the features will be:

 

Key Alpha Community Services YMCA personnel will be showcasing services that Alpha offers the community of Bridgeport and recipient stories along with live dialogue throughout the ‘stream’.

A  Dance TikTok Challenge featuring Tony Dovolani, of Dancing with the Stars fame, throwing down 15-20 second TicTok Dance Challenge to the TicTok community. Submissions will be reviewed and select videos will be played on ‘air’ during the broadcast.


Musical segments led by local music personality/performer Green Eyed Lady and other local musical guests throughout the broadcast.

Special musical guest Javier Colon, past winner of NBCs The Voice, will be performing one of his popular songs.

 


Hear from local celebrities like Walter Luckett, local basketball legend, Carl Pavano, former NY Yankee great pitcher, and First Selectwoman of the Town of Fairfield, Brenda Kupchick.
A cooking segment by Fairfield County Chef Eric Felitto, winner of the Food Network’s ‘Chopped’.
